If you're considering Webflow, it's likely because you want great web design and performance without the high costs of building and maintaining a custom technology stack. That said, Webflow does introduce additional complexity over website builders that optimize for ease of use, such as Wix and Squarespace.

In this article, we'll cover everything you need to know about Webflow pricing, including two crucial concepts to understand: Workspace and Site Plan.

What is a Webflow Workspace?

When you create a Webflow account, you begin with a no-cost Starter Workspace. A Workspace is a home base for all your Webflow websites. You may only need a single website, but if the time comes when you want to add a second, third, or more, your Workspace is where you create and manage them.

A Workspace is also a collaborative environment. The Starter Workspace permits you to invite up to two Agency or Freelancer guests. If you found a great Webflow developer, invite them to your Workspace at no additional cost to create and update your new site.

If you need in-house team members to access your Workspace or more unhosted websites, then Webflow requires you to upgrade your Workspace.

  • Core Workspace, for $18/mo per seat if billed yearly or $29/mo per seat if billed monthly, allows you up to 3 members and 10 unhosted sites.
  • Growth Workspace, for $49/mo per seat if billed yearly or $60/mo per seat if billed monthly, allows you up to 9 members and unlimited unhosted sites.
  • Enterprise Workspace is a custom-priced Workspace that permits unlimited members, unlimited unhosted sites, and advanced security and support, among other features.

Additionally, if you're a Freelancer or Agency, to gain access to client workspaces as a guest, Webflow requires you to upgrade your Workspace as well.

  • Freelancer Workspace, for $16/mo per seat if billed yearly or $24/mo per seat if billed monthly, allows you up to 3 members, 10 unhosted sites, and free guest access in client Workspaces.
  • Agency Workspace, for $35/mo per seat if billed yearly or $42/mo per year if billed monthly, allows you up to 9 members, unlimited unhosted sites, free guest access, plus more.

What is a Webflow Site Plan?

You must first add a Site Plan to publish an unhosted website on a custom domain. Site Plans are delineated based on whether it is a General or Ecommerce website.

If you don't plan to take advantage of Webflow's Ecommerce capabilities, then you'll have four options when selecting a paid plan:

  • Basic Plan, for $14/mo if billed yearly or $29/mo if billed monthly, offers very basic features with no access to Webflow's CMS.
  • CMS Plan, for $23/mo if billed yearly or $29/mo if billed monthly, permits up to 2,000 CMS items, three content editors, plus more.
  • Business Plan, for $39/mo if billed yearly or $49/mo if billed monthly, permits up to 10,000 CMS items, ten content editors, plus more.
  • Enterprise Plan is a custom-priced Site Plan with custom limits for large high-traffic websites.

If you're looking to set up an online store and sell products, then Webflow gives your three options:

  • Standard Plan, for $29/mo if billed yearly or $42/mo if billed monthly, offers 500 Ecommerce items and 2,000 CMS items, with a 2% transaction fee.
  • Plus Plan, for $74/mo if billed yearly or $84/mo if billed monthly, offers 5,000 Ecommerce items and 10,000 CMS items, with a 0% transaction fee.
  • Advanced Plan, for $212/mo if billed yearly or $235/mo if billed monthly, offers 5,000 Ecommerce items and 10,000 CMS items, with a 0% transaction fee.

Final thoughts

‍Webflow offers a variety of options to get high-powered custom user experiences published on the web. It aims to be a solution for high-growth companies with multiple products and small businesses with more limited needs.

You may not need the seats and features of Webflow's advanced options, and if that's the case, you can launch a site at rates comparable to Wix and Squarespace. The difference is, Webflow is a platform that supports your growth rather than puts a ceiling on it.

It's worth a little time understanding why Webflow does things the way it does. I hope this article helps! If you need a more personalized recommendation on how to proceed with Webflow, please get in touch with me.
